Seminar by Dr. Lucia Mancini at the Institut Laue–Langevin (Grenoble, France)

On November 27, 2025, Dr. Lucia Mancini was invited to give a General ILL seminar organised by College i entitled Multimodal and multiscale dynamic imaging for material characterization. The seminar was held at the European Photon & Neutron (EPN) Science Campus in Grenoble (France) and was attended by researchers from the Institut Laue Langevin (ILL), the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), and other institutes located on the same campus. The talk focused on the use of neutron- and X-ray-based non-destructive imaging techniques for the characterization of different materials, with particular emphasis on energy storage applications, and provided an excellent opportunity to present recent experimental results and discuss future collaborations.

The EPN Science Campus is an international research hub in Grenoble, hosting three major European institutes—EMBL, ESRF, and ILL—along with the IBS and several joint partnerships. In particular, ILL is the world’s leading facility in neutron science and technology, while ESRF is the world’s brightest synchrotron light source.
